The American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine, founded in 2004, has made notable achievements in a relatively short time. As a medical school, AUA emphasizes providing a learner-centric education, particularly increasing minority representation and racial diversity in the medical field. The university targets underserved communities and focuses on primary care, addressing the impending physician shortage. AUA’s commitment is reflected in its curriculum and global healthcare initiatives.
In terms of academic performance and recognition, AUA graduates in 2023 were matched to over 175 residency programs across various locations including the United States, Canada, and the UK, in primary care disciplines like family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and psychiatry, along with other specialty areas. To be eligible for admission into the pre-med program at AICASA must
· Complete the online application at – Click “Start New Application” and select “AICASA” under Institution
· Do not pay the application fee as we will have the application fee of $75 waived for you
· Submit official transcripts/marks card high school
· Obtain two letters of recommendation from the school
- The letters should be on the school’s letterhead
- The letters can be sent as attachments to my email address
- The letters should be sent from the school’s email address (not the personal email address of the recommending faculty/teacher/head of institution)
· Personal statement of Student
oShould include details about student
oShould clearly show student interests, hobbies, etc.
oShould articulate why the student wants to pursue medical education
· One passport-size photo
· Resume
Once all the above documents/information is submitted to us, one of our Directors of Admissions will interview the student for approximately 45 minutes via Zoom. The final decision on student admission will be provided by the Admissions Committee of AICASA/AUA which will be communicated from my office to the student.
